Japanese Universities Scholarships?

Unfortunately since the disasters in March earlier this year, government funding for these types of scholarships may be low for a while. Many universities offer individual scholarships though, so do a google search for websites of Japanese universities and check out their offers for international students- some I know of that have good programs are Chiba, Chuo, Keio, Yokohama, Tsuda (women's college only), Waseda and Kanazawa. Additionally, why not consider attending a local university and doing an exchange year in Japan instead? Many universities have exchange agreements with other universities around the world, so check out what exchange agreements universities in your country have. If you study Japanese at university in your home country, you also have access to opportunities such as the JENESYS program. Also, why not consider getting your undergrad and doing postgrad studies at a Japanese university?
