What exams are necessary for a high school scholarship abroad?

• next year i am thinking to send my application for some japanese universities for taking a scholarship !!! firstly,i wold ike to know if i should have good marks at school or that it depends on the japanese universities ?? and secondly, i give exams there for humanities and social studies??? thank you
