First of all, let me say that you will love Japan. My hubby and I live here and it's amazing. In Tokyo, we always stay at the Star Hotel in Shinjuku. Great location and $$! Within Tokyo, I would recommend visiting: Meiji Shrine and Asakusa Shrine - both beautiful and popular Roppongi Hills - massive skyscraper, complete with luxury condos, a Hyatt (!!), a mall, the Tokyo Sky View (gorgeous 360 view of the city) and the Mori Art Museum And Shibuya! So many people in a small space! The most famous tour company in Tokyo is Hato-Bus...I'm sure your hotel could help you book a tour, if you like. Good luck and have fun!! P.S. Hard to go wrong with food in Japan...ask the locals for suggestions (especially reasonably priced ones). If you like sushi, you can go to the famous Tsukiji Fish Market bright and early for AMAZINGLY FRESH fish!!

If you go during june, it would be summer time, so get ready for warm weather. For shopping, go to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Ginza and Ikebukuro. For cheaper hotels, try ikebukuro or Asakusa. Food is found everywhere so don't worry. Visit the more famous shrines and visit the imperial palace if possible. Take walks in the gardens. Visit the bookstores of Kinokuniya or go to Jimbocho for secondhand books. Go to Akihabara if you're an IT geek. And if possible, take a side trip to Hakone or Mount Fuji. Hope it helps
