Whats the difference between 「状態」と「状況」?

• Do they both exactly mean ”circumstances” or is there a difference? Also between all these words that seem to mean "empty." Is there a difference between them all in meaning? 空ろな 空いている 空の 虚ろな 開いている 空になる
