Where online can I buy artistic/unique postcards?

Where can I buy (flashy, funny) postcards in Tokio?

  • I'm currently in Tokio and want to buy postcards, but these are rare goods in Japan. I had my trouble finding some in Fukuoka, too (and found some in the huge book store in tenjin on the 3rd floor). I'd like to buy some flashy, funny postcards to send home. Does anyone know where I could find those (or any) postcards?

    They sell standard type postcards at the post office. You can find Post Cards at TOKYU HANDS stores, there are TOKYU HANDS shops in Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. Next to the TokyuHands in Shinjuku is the Kinokuniya bookstore, on the 6th floor (foreign language book section) they have some of your standard tourist type post cards. All those places will give you the standard touristy post cards. As for flashy, try some street stores in Roppongi or Shibuya, though I can't name any off the top of my head.

Postcards with pictures are sold as souvenirs. You need to go to such places as Tokyo Tower or JR Tokyo station to buy it.
