How to live and work in Japan?

How can I live and work in Japan?

  • I want to know what should i do or what should i have to work and live in japan.

  • Answer:

Hello Wasim, In most cases in order to work full time in Japan you need to have a University degree and you also require the backing of a company in Japan to sponsor your visa. There are about a dozen types of working visas available, each allowing the holder to work only within a defined professional field, e.g. as an engineer, instructor or entertainer. Working visas are valid for a period of 1 to 3 years, and may be used to secure employment at any employer within the scope of activities designated on the visa (including employers other than the guarantor). If you qualify you might also want to look at the Working Holiday Program. The Working Holiday program is open to young citizens (between 18 and 30) from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea, France, Germany, Ireland and the UK: those eligible may apply for working holiday visas without having a job offer. You usually need working or student visa to live in Japan. For working visa, you have to get a job offer from a Japanese company. But you can't look for a job in Japan without a visa. So you need it before you enter Japan. For student visa, you have to be admitted to a Japanese college. You need to pay tuition and living cost for 4 years. It could be about $100,000.

Do you have a four year degree ? A job skill a Japanese doesn't have ? You need the degree to get a work visa. You need a special skill to get a job. If a Japanese can do the job, they will be hired first.
