What things are popular in Japan right now?

Do you think that in 4 years Japan's awful situation will get better?

  • Right now this is how things are: • Horrible tsunami • Diverses earthquakes • If economy was bad now is going to be 10 times worse. • No jobs (well that's a worldwide thing) • Decreasing and low popullation. And now foreigners are leaving Japan Japan was an awesome country when i visited it on 2005 Spring and last year's summer. I got a girfriend who's japanese and lives in Osaka. I asked her the same question i posted here and she said she's not sure about that. She also said that right now japanese people in the south are trying to help north people and some are volunteering. And the nort japanese and trying to cope with the tragedy they just went through, that right now japanese aren't considering about the economic situation, they are just trying to get thought this alive. Being honest i make this question because i was considering that in 4 years i was going to be living in Japan with my girlfriend. She told me didn't want to leave Japan never in her life, but i didn't want to leave America either. So after several months i decided that being a 23 years old guy, speaking english and fluid japanese, i could move to Japan and at least work as an english teacher. What do you think i should do? Should i reconsider my plans of moving to Japan? I haven't tell Ami about me moving with her to Japan, it was supposed to be a surprise. But now everything has changed around there.

The tsunami was awful, but they constantly have earthquakes -- it is just this was the largest one to ever hit them. The economy in Japan is bad simply because the economy in the United States is bad -- ours should head upward in the next 1-5 years. There are jobs in the United States -- just in the obvious places (California, New York City type places) For instance, I honestly never really saw any effects of the recession in my area. The decline in birth rates is due to social issues. I think Japan will recover. They are a highly-developed country, and I am sure that in 4 years (as long as the disasters dont keep coming like this), they should be back on their feet. Good luck!

Japan is a racially homogeneous country with a centuries-old civilization and IQ's high enough to produce some of the world's most advanced technology. Japan isn't finished yet. But take a country filled with every third-world garbage and blacks with IQ's just above "mentally retarded", and this is what you get - USA .. (remember katrina?) So, before anyone flips out, I humbly ask .... am I being racist or truthful?

Life goes on Kansai. You would never know Kobe was destroyed in 95 now. Japan will need foreign workers now more than ever.

Economy should be ok as after Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. There is a word "Yakebutori" in Japan which means becoming richer or more prosperous after a fire or disaster. I guess you guys remember the Barings Bank, British bank, crashed after this earthquake. Where is Nick now?

This is a blip in their radar, there are a lot of worried people in Japan but there are a lot of people who are carrying on with their lives going to school or work, they have the resources, Japan will be fine.

i think that they will be under water like half of the land on earth will be. but most def things will get better there will be nothing but up hill when this happens because things really can't get any worse when the worst has already happened.

Not all of Japan was hit by earthquakes, tsunamis, and radiation. You and your girlfriend could find a place away from where all this occured. Or your girlfriend could move to America. I know you said she didn't want to move but she could change her mind. If you two are together you should actually be together. I mean if it's working for you how you are living your life currently then you can stay like that too. I don't know if Japan will recover in 4 years or not. No one can predict the future. Hopefully they recover by this year.

Well it's just what Paul said, getting better all the time. I mean Paul MC is like the only beatle who has a happy life and he is arguably the most talented one in that band; the others are either dead or Ringo Starr, so it must be the case that the song getting better all the time somehow endowed him a good life. So, I encourage the government of Japan to change the national anthem from Kimigayo to getting better all the time. Yeah, I am arguably dumber than the average second graders...sigh...
