Is Japan a good place to study abroad?

I am looking for a place to study Baji Quan (Hakkyokuken) in Japan.?

  • I am stationed here for a while, and my Japanese is limited. I would like to learn and will dedicate myself as much as possible. Any help would be great.

  • Answer:

You realize Baji Quan is Chinese ? I don't think it has a large following in Japan.

It looks there are some Hakkyokuken (八極拳) gyms around Japan. But I can'tfind English page for them. http://www.kaimonkensha.com/ http://homepage.mac.com/shiguma0/ http://dojos.org/cgi-local/search/html/04_06_27.html

Well I think Baji quan isn't all that popular in japan because it's mostly for show..per say.. I would study aikido. Good luck .

Bajiquan is Chinese. Check Shorinji Kempo, the idea and the ideology has totally changed though.

Try your local budokan. Maybe they won't have Baji Quan per se, but they will likely have shaolin kempo.
