I plan and I indeed have a very strategized plan on moving to Japan. Can I sell English books there and alsoUS?

I'm looking at the grammar and sentence structure in your question, and the question itself, and it's raising red flags here. Step One: find a publisher who's willing to accept your material. Scratch that: Step One is getting a good proofreader to clean up your material before submitting it to a publisher. Marketing your stuff in Japan is somewhere around Step 45.

I never saw a start up English written novel make it in Japan. The majority of western novels there are best sellers in English, and then get translated. Not to mention you would have so much competition in Japan for sales. Their publishing industry is huge. It would be better for you to write your work with getting published in English as your goal. Become famous enough and then eventually you'll be published in Japan. Unless your Japanese is good enough to write a novel in Japanese, then go for it. Doesn't mean you can't live in Japan while you are writing, but don't expect your writing to support you.

Some authors wrote a book in English and became bestseller. And it's translated into Japanese and sold in Japan. You can do that if you like. But few Japanese would want to read a book written in English. And no publisher would want to publish an English book. English books sold in Japan are imported ones. Not published here. Japanese people basically can't read English. So there is no reason to have an English book in Japan. BTW, how do you move to Japan? It's not easy to get a visa for Japan.

Anything is possible, but not everything is plausible. Firstly, translation is very different from simple substitution of words and even expressions. When you translate, you are not converting words but ideas from one language to another. In some cases, that is not even possible because the idea does not exists in the target language and you can only approximate what you originally intended. The mistake most people make is that they transliterate instead of translate. Transliteration is simply replacing words and even idioms from one language to another. To translate properly, you have to also take into considerating the cultural differences and perceptions. What is acceptable or popular in one culture is not necessarily acceptable or popular in another. This is why many bestsellers in the english speaking world do poorly in other languages such as Japanese even after translation. Unless you have an indepth understanding of the thought processes of the Japanese, their tastes, their likes and dislikes, their idea of opposites, your chances of writing stories initially in english that will appeal to them after it is translated is near zero. If you love writing and you want to do it in Japan, then you need to learn Japanese and study the Japanese. It's not that the Japanese do not acknowledge good foreign writers, it's that their taste and idea of a good book is going to be different and it changes from one generation to the next. Take for example an english book that was incredibly popular a couple of generations ago - Anna of the Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I liked it, but I didn't think it was a literary masterpiece - but it seemed every elderly Japanese I had ever met thinks it was.
