What is tokyo (the capital of Japan) like?

What's Tokyo, Japan like?

  • I'm very curious on what the Country and City is like. If you have been to Japan before, what's it like in your opinion?

  • Answer:

Yes I am Japanese and I have been there several times. Japan is hot in summer time. It is very humid. Their railway system is so good that you don't really need a car. It is very convenient too (Vending machines everywhere). I usually have 2 places to stay at. My aunts place is in Tokyo and my grandparents live in this countryside on East coast of Japan. Usually when I stay at my grandparents place I go to the beaches, go fishing or catch frogs, lizards, bugs (I am a wildlife freak). There is nothing else to do but have fun with wildlife. The atmosphere is more like a jungle because Japan is part of the tropical islands in East Asia. Tokyo life is a bit different. Tokyo is a nice huge city (surprisingly clean) rich in economy and technology. You need money. Bring lots of money otherwise Tokyo would be too boring. There are so many things to buy and so many places to eat that spending never stops. But be careful what you buy because your money will be gone in no time. But Tokyo is just a huge city full of concrete and its very noisy too so I prefer living outside of Tokyo where there is more nature and wildlife (beaches, countryside).

Hia, Me I love Tokyo. I've lived here for 7 years and I still get a buzz out of being here. I guess it's horses for courses like all things. What do I love about it? That each part of the city is different and has it's own character, feel, smells etc. I love the shopping! Food, culture, people, I can go on...... If you want to take a peek at the Tokyo that I know check out the link underneath. That' s my own wee website about the city. I put it together for my family so they could see where I am : )

Sorry i havent been there yet, but I have watched the Japanese Tv dramas 'Otoko Densha' & 'Akihabara@deep' which are both based in the Tokyo suburb of Akihabara. It is a beautifull place. I'm going to Japan mainly for Akihabara. Lookup Akihabara on Wikipedia. =)

if you work in tokyo, it's quite draining. you'll be exhausted by the time ju get to office. thats cos tha trains are tightly packed like friggin asparagus in a tin can so much so that tha station people have to squeeze people into the train.

It's actually not that great i want they're on vacation once it's pretty crowded but they have the best pens and stationary ever. Plus all the people there dress really nice.
