I cant see japanese symbols on my computer?

What OS are you using? If you are using Windows, then let me guide you about Japanese characters. The reason why you'Re seeing squares is that, your computer doesn't have the Japanese character sets in your computer. To do so, Go to Control Panel, Select Region and Languages, then be sure "Install East Asian Language" (something like that) is checked. Also, if you can check the supported languages, check all the lines with Japanese on it (eg, Katakana, Japanese, etc).. after that, click Apply, then OK,. Beware though as your computer will ask you to restart. If you have unsaved work, please save them first then, cliick OK to start, or if you plan to restart later, click cancel, things will apply later after you restarted your computer.

Its extremely hard to get those fonts on your computer if you dont have the disc.. if you have mozilla, you can download this [application?] that lets you view hiragana, katakana, kanji, and hangul symbols. BUT, only on mozilla. if you try and copy and paste it to notepad it will not work. Im sorry, i lost the link for it.. try and look at it on mozillas main site though? if youre using a diff browser like internet explorer, I suggest mozilla anyways, its awesome x]

I had the same problem and solved it through Tokyo Lurkers method. start button/settings/control panel/languages/ect if you look it up on google there are step by step instructions with pictures and all :D
