Which country is better to visit A) India B)Japan?

  • When I turn 18 i plan to leave to one of my fave countries and its between india or japan and because im poor i can only visit one so which one do you prefer

  • Answer:

2 Very Different Countries I must say. India has an amazing culture but huge country unorganized in a magical way I would say which could be nice for the laid-back kind of traveller who want to see something unique on street level. People are very warm and it would be much cheaper I can tell you since I have been in both countries and currently live in Japan. India seems cheaper but there are a lot of hidden costs. Without generalizing and saying I have the outmost respect for this gorgeous country, will rip you off whenever they can knowing of course you are a tourist. So what you pay for is not always what you get. Its also much more dangerous than Japan in so many different ways. Japan on the other hand is completely opposite. Very fast paced even if you are here to relax as a tourist, very xenophobic people and biased against most things foreign. Very quiet well-mannered people which depending on your money will go the extra mile to make sure you receive the best service whether is hotels or restaurants etc. I must say very different from India but Japan is also magical. I fell in love so much with this country regardless of its negative parts because the less populated areas and travel spots are simply amazing India: Friendlier Cheaper at first Look Huge country Very Spiritual Laid Back Japan: Beautifull Super Expensive ( But what you pay is what you get ) Very Very Safe Crazy in so many ways They will either Love you or Hate you for being a foreigner Well Based on personal experience regardless of your budget these 2 places are so so so different in atmosphere and what they have to offer so I would so try to go for the place you see that appeals most to you. Feel Free to Email me if you need any help with info about Japan Good Luck

An India trip might cost less in some ways: food, local style clothing and cost more in others due to availability of items. Japan has more availability of some western style items. I'm told people are friendlier in India - esp to a white female traveller, but that for a young girl travelling alone you'll have to fend off curious men. Travellers report less of this experience in Japan. There are some presumptions about western women travelling alone in India. Both have large expat communities esp in the larger cities. Visit this site for more info: journeywoman.com. You'll get a newsletter with lots of advice for women travellers from women who have done it themselves. Also, check out meetup.com, there are expat groups from all countries. You can connect online directly with people living in these countries who can give you more info.

Japan is easier except money. As you know, India is about 9 times bigger than Japan and there are far more nice places to visit. Anyway, you will be surprised both countries. Have a nice trip !!

I live in Japan but travelled India last year. In India I found most people I met were only interested in getting money out of me. In Delhi taxi drivers refuse to use their meter, every 100m I walked I had a new person selling me something, even throwing pooh on you so they can charge to clean it off (in Connaught Place). If you do go then get out of Delhi as soon as possible. However there was never a language barrier and there were some amazing sites/sights (where people try to sell you things). In Japan the language barrier is huge. You won't be able to talk to a typical taxi driver but you can trust them 100%. Nobody approaches you in the street to sell you something. Nobody expects a tip. Japan is hassle free. People I know have had their lost rail travel cards, worth 300 dollars, returned to them and the station master apologised for the inconvenience. So which problems do you want to face? Relentless parasitical sales people in India and you can't trust people. Language barrier in Japan.

INDIA INDIA INDIA. Seriously. EVERYONE goes to Japan. Wouldn't it be more interesting to see India!? You'll see things much more differently when you come back, it's a very spiritual country. It would be more beneficial to you, I think. Personally, I think both countries would be beautiful and it would be an awesome experience. :D

I would recommend saving up for your trip to Japan. You should also look into being an exchange student or joining the JET program. A lot of people have gone through the JET program and have enjoyed it! http://www.jetprogramme.org/

Japan has better sceneries than India. But India has more beautiful women. Answer mine: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090330064739AATfb2R&r=w

I don't think "poor" people can travel to other countries ! That aside, I'd pick Japan. Japan is far cleaner, less pollution, and not as hot.Japan is more modern. I'd go with Japan...
