♡I know how you except that I'm an American living in Japan! Try to enjoy the things around you where you are, if you keep thinking about home, you'll never be happy or be able to enjoy where you are. I know it easier said than done, but it will help a lot. ☆Go out and take a walk and see how interesting your new area is. Go inside a new shop and look around. Make new friends and teach them some Japanese things you love. Your favorite foods, music, your family and home pictures... This will help you enjoy where you are and not be so 'homesick'. Call your family and friends, write them a letter, send them e-mail, invite them to visit you! Connect with them using a program like 'Skype' if they have a PC. Make a 'blog' with pictures of your life where you are now and let your family and friends here in Japan keep up with your life and what you're doing. They'll be able to comment and communicate with you. I bet they really miss YOU a bunch too! Hope this helps!♡

Call home. Make Japanese friends where you are. Read the Japanese news online. Eat Japanese food. Do anything that reminds you of home. I know how you feel. Good luck.

I moved to NYC 4 months ago from the West Coast and was mad homesick at first. I still am for certain things, but that's where you have to decide what you want. Either it's worth it to be away or it's not. Sometimes talking to people from home makes it even worse. Get out. Make new friends. Instead of focusing on home focus on where you're at in your life now.

If you have to be away from home I would say keep yourself occupied. Don't ever become bored. If you get bored you start thinking about how much you miss Japan. Go out and take a walk, go shopping, swimming, or something. Of course, keep in contact with your family in Japan. Don't lose contact with them or it could possibly get worse anyway.

Ok - I live in Thailand and though I love it here, I find that I do not get homesick for two good reasons.. First, I do not hesitate to pick up the phone and call - phoning is not too expensive these days - - second, I email my friends - when I am at a computer typing, it has the same effect for me as sitting and talking.. I can spend an hour on the internet and these days w/cameras and microphone hook-ups you are nearly there.. and you can do it every day.. hope this works for you -
