Do i have a chance of modeling in Japan?
-
im almost turning 16 and im going back to japan next year for grade 11. ive always wanted to do modeling nothing too big like catwalks. im japanese chinese but i look slightly japanese canadian which is really popular in japan right now. im not that tall 5'5 but since im really skinny it makes me look really tall. im slightly worried since im pretty flat chested. like 28 A cup. but people say that can be easily photoshopped. i have long legs and my skin is really nice and i have really thick hair bhahaa. i have a pretty face and my moms friend whose a makeup artist says i would look really great with makeup. lol i dont do makeup. i also have a small face so i guess thats good too. but being skinny and pretty faced not enough? is having a chest really important? do i need to be super tall? <-- i dont think that is soo important since im still only 15. im also not thatt photogenic but practise makes perfect right? ;) question number 2: if i do have a chance how do i get started? my friend here just sent a photo to this modeling agency and they liked her look so they picked her. my friends in japan say that i can maybe be scouted but that seems hard unless you are drop dead gorgeous right?

Answer:
How it usually works----You send in your pic to modeling agencies. These agencies are not free. The agency tries to find jobs for you. Both my daughters have modeled. Very time consuming, lots of travel. Well, at least WHEN they get work. The oldest was the main model for this one line of clothes. Both have done TV commercials. Neither could come close to supporting themselves on the money they made. Problem, you would have to have a work visa to live in Japan. You are NOT going to find a modeling agency that will sponsor you because then the have to give you full time work. You're only hope would be if you can get a working holiday visa and MAYBE do a little modeling while you are here. Scouting? I'd be concerned as to whether such efforts are legit or getting you to put your foot into the AV business. Chance? Very, very, very, very, very, very small. Become a success in your own country and then maybe you can knock off a couple of those 'very's. But magazines, newspapers, all kinds of ads? You generally see Japanese. NOTE: Posting the same question twice so quickly 1- does not increase your chances of modeling 2- probably decreases them because it indicates that you are somewhat lacking in the intelligence department and thus may have problems with things a normal person would take in stride and 3- does not get you any better answers to your pipedream of a question.
