Me, my friend and dad are plannning to go to Japan in spring break? Money/Yen is not an issue, but is that a good time to go? do we HAVE to know japanese to be there? Is it a pretty place? :D

Answer:
If money is not an issue it is a great time to go. If your Spring break is in late March to April you may be able to see Cherry Blossoms which are very pretty. The weather is typically cool and nice it depends on what part of Japan you will be visiting you may run into some possible snow in certain areas. To be honest it can be challenging to get around Japan without any knowledge of Japanese language but not impossible. You should at least make an attempt to say hello, thank you, excuse me and other basics in Japanese. They are fairly easy to learn a few things and will be appreciated. Many menu's have pictures and you can just point at an item and say okudasai which means give me basically. They do have English tours available or you can go it on your own. Please be mindful of manners and etiquette in Japan. I suggest reading a book on basic manners like when to take off shoes (and wearing good socks when you do), not eating while walking around, not standing up hashi (chopsticks) in your food and other such things you may not be aware of. It is an amazing place and a ton of fun. I suggest going to the Kansai area and staying in Osaka and from there visiting Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. If you have time also Wakayma and Ise too.

The down side is non Japanese are dicriminated against sometimes when going to certain estblishments, they may say (members only ), that means Japanese only. But for the most part it is a very safe place because the standard of conduct is very high.
