What a Show, the CCTV CUP,English Speaking Contest 2008 on 30 Jan..Did U watch? Is it Selling Beijing & CHINA?

  • All topics are aiming to get visistors for China. Ideas & format are good but not well publishised to the overseas viewers of CCTV. I am one of them, interested to watch but not given details for follow-up so end up missing the LIVE Telecast of the Final.....only caught it this morning at 10 am, the repeat of last night show. CAN CCTV4 & 9 LOOK INTO THIS MATTER TO HELP FOREIGN VIEWERS. Tried twice at english.cctv.com but no info on the show and the voting.

I looked up the program schedule of cctv, this program played 3 times everyday. 3:00--5:00am,9:00--11:00,22:00 --24:00, today (31 Jan, all time use beijing time). if you can open this page, you can look up it, too. but it is a chinese webpage. http://tv.cctv.com/soushi/28/200901311218.shtml the program called 2008年“CCTV杯”英语演讲比赛 in chinese. I dont know the definite meaning of selling, but there is something ppl in oversee can not understand, such as the topic of giving up fund national football team. I think it is just a window, overseas ppl can look through it, and be aware of what chinese is thinking. though i can not understand completely the details of their argument because of my bad english.
