What places in the Philippines compare best with Shanghai and with Beijing?

Are there expat bars/ places where foreigners hang out in Beijing, Shanghai, and other Chinese cities?

  • In Korea, there were places in Seoul where many foreigners would hang out. Most were around universities or in a special place designated for foreign owned businesses called Itaewon. I assume something there is something similar in China. Am I right?

  • Answer:

    yes many, like the french consession, hengshang road, tongren road etc..in shanghai. those are also places where fake beggars will appear around 3am in the morning making fortunes by doing nothing.

There are hundreds of bars in Shanghai where foreigners hang out or expat bars. There are even certain areas of Shanghai were expat bars consume the entire street, maybe a half mile long, one bar after another. Many of these bars served western food and have entertainment or pool tables, dart boards, etc. Don't worry, you will find many places for your social activity and of course, English is widely spoken at these venues.
