Will the endangered species of monitor lizard become extinct because of their huge consumption in China?

I concur PC, it's the simple principle of nature--''natural selection''. Dinosaurs are extinct, why not lizards? They belong same species, just much smaller. how many lizards can build skycrapers, bridges, spaceship, win an Olympics gold metal, hold Expo, anwer questions on yahoo...? plus i heard eating lizards is good for having a powerful tongue.
