    They say it is made from fermented tofu. i'm not sure about that but i did see whole pieces of it being fried, add some garlic, ginger, onion, chili, and herbs. Taiwan's smelly tofu are the best and safe. in China -well....i wouldn't dare.

haha i guess ARandomGuy misunderstood your question... stinky tofu (臭豆腐, or in pinyin - chou dou fu) is actually a famous snack in china, with a long history, i think u will get better answer by google than to ask here
