How to find a part time job in Beijing?

  • I'm a high school graduate, fluent in english, can speak some mandarin. Need a job to fill in my gap year. Any suggestions on a website or forum for job opportunities? maybe teaching english?

It's really difficult for a foreigner to find a part time job in Beijing because there are so many people constantly looking for jobs, there just aren't enough to go around. Tutoring English would probably be your best bet, try advertising around a university such as Peking U or the Health Science center. Any practical job oppurunity would be in the private sector.

what about washing the plates and cleaning the streets? :) your self intro was pretty strange... do you have any language certificates or "just fluent because i said i'm fluent"?... does "some mandarin" mean you are a Southerner or a foreigner... even if the web-sites will be given to you, they require more than "speak some"... it's unlikely there is an employment opportunity for you...

better not looking for job there. too many people lose their jobs there. supply far out numbers demand. many people can teach english, why would they hire a high school grad. not just any english speaker can teach english, you know. i've seen a lot of foreigners making big bucks there just because they speak english. back in their own country they are just like anybody else. this must change.
