How much money should I bring to Hong Kong?

I'm travelling to Hong Kong for a month, and I'm wondering how much money I should bring for food?

  • Answer:

Food is really cheap if you eat the local way. I'm thinking $5 - $10 USD per day. That would even allow for drinks etc. I was eating locally there and would splash out for seafood dinners etc and Still not that bad. The exchange was $1USD - $7HK at the time. Breakfast - pick up local breakfast bread or bowl of rice porridge with fried bread. Snacks - what ever yummy thing we saw along the way Lunch - Dim sum, noodles, what ever looked interesting along the way. Dinner - sometimes a takeout rice plate with choice of roast meat and veggies only $10 HKD! On Argyle St near Shanghai in Kowloon. Was around the corner from our hotel. Snack - sugercane juice - $2HKD Recommend buying some fruits since that makes a fast breakfast or snack.

I would say about $200-$250, thats if you eat out everyday. If you plan on cooking yourself, i would say around $150-$200.
