Why is it more common for Western men to marry Asian women?

Why do many western men marry chinese women who are MUCH younger than them?

  • i saw a couple in a sichuan restaurant last week. the girl is maybe 20 something. the guy maybe 50 or 60 something. then there was another table with 2 white guys, they seem have trouble ordering food, then this girl went to the two white guys' table and help them to order since she is from sichuan, so i guess she knows her own food, but she sounded really annoying, then i heard she said something her husband met her in china bla bla etc.... i've seen many couples like this: white american guy(since i live in america so of course more american i see) that is 25 to 30 plus years at least older than the chinese wife. why is that? some couples like this live near me, but i don't talk to them, most of the time i don't like the woman, or both.

    Men want a young and attractive girlfriend, regardless of their own age, so you can't blame them for that. The puzzle is why do young women want older men? It certainly isn't for the old guy's athletic ability or longevity in the bedroom, so what is the secret? Money might be the reason, or at least the hope of money. However, being white doesn't mean being rich. In fact, with the American and European economies in such a tailspin these days, being white increasingly means being broke. I suspect that many young girls are hoping for money from these old men, but are getting soiled diapers instead. The phenomenon of younger women with much older men is not unique to Chinese girls and American senior citizens. During college I spent a summer working at a country club and quickly noticed a pattern among the membership. The average male was a 60-year-old white guy driving a Cadillac or Lincoln. He would almost always be accompanied by a 30 to 40 year old female with enormous fake boobs and dyed blonde hair. Most of these women couldn't find the United States on a world map, but they had found money despite their lack of intelligence. Back to Chinese girls and their ancient boyfriends. Maybe the girls want a "father figure" instead of a real boyfriend. I know that doesn't make much sense, but other than the girls seeking money, it's the only explanation that I can come up with.

I am one of those you speak about about. First the Chinese men treat ladies like second class people. In China the man is looking for a lady to take care of his parents not caring about the lady. Second the Chinese ladies are brought up to treat the men well. Most Chinese ladies wish to be treated well and given a chance to have a good life. I gave this to my wife and she is very happy. And of course I'm very happy. When two people can give the other what they want and need it makes for a happy relationship.

There are 2 reasons: 1) For couples who marry for love and even if the white man is only older by a few years, the Caucasian man always look at least 10 or more years older. Chinese women should really thank god/heaven for aging so gracefully. 2) Many American men who couldn't find a wife in the US look to Europe, Asia for love. These men tend to be older to start with and while looking, why not get a younger wife if a woman is willing to marry him. There are many young Asian women who are willing to marry just for a better material life and the chance to leave their country for the US.

Maybe your answering the question in the wrong way it could be phrased. Why do Chinese women marry men who are much longer er older than them? The thing that jumps to mind is that a husband has to be a success, a successful person is seen as a seen of a good mate that can raise a family. As I have observed people with money tend to be older. This is something I have observed in China with middle age Chinese businessmen with younger looking female company that could be their daughter but act very differently.

The same reason Rich Chinese men do. because they can. Sick of whiney people complaining about foreigners in China. Foreigners are considered rich, they are doing the same thing as all rich men in China. Grow up and take your childish jealous attitudes somewhere else.

Let me get this right, you ask about American guy "maybe 50 or 60 something". You live in America and do not know or understand why. Brain think for a moment, if I was 50 or 60 something would I want to marry a woman who was 20 years older than me? Hmmm would I want to marry a woman my age here in the US that only thought about herself? Or would I want to marry a woman who was raised to take care of her family and had high values of the family. This woman would help me to live my live and at the same time I would make her life a much better life for her to enjoy. Then in a few years after I was gone I would leave her set up for life with my retirement and income for her life. She could live where she wanted how she wanted and never worry about going back to the lifestyle she was living in when we met. Where is the loser in this game of life? All I see are winners. Like the one answer said, I do not know if I am in the age group you ask about. I am 59, American, my wife is Chinese 47 years old Engineer degree. After I pass away she will only work if she wants to for the rest of her life.She will be able to stay here in the US and go to visit her family in China when she wants. As for now, we are both very happy, I am the happiest I can ever remember being. We do everything together. Nope, I can not see losers in this lifestyle. Of course there are men who abuse their wives,this is illegal to do no matter if the wife is American, Chinese or any other race. The nickle workers leader really showed everybody he knows his stuff, just like he always does, he must know the man who said "I know nothing!" I think my dog can make guesses better than that!

I don't know if it's more about that western man marrying a younger Chinese woman, but more about the young Chinese woman marrying the older western man, and it has a lot to do with money and leaving China. If a woman in the US had the option of marrying a Chinese many and moving to china, that woman would be seen as if she's out of her mind, no offensive. but if a Chinese woman had the choice of marrying an american man (no matter the age), and moving to America, she would probably do it and her family would probably approve. This is how i see it. it may not always be the case, but i might be very wrong, and i don't mean to offend anyone.
