    My wife had her eyes examined in China and then had prescription glasses made for her. She always complained to me about her glasses when I was in China. I told her when we got our Visa to the US I would have her eyes checked here. Now she has had her eyes checked here in the US and I have bought her two pairs of glasses. She was so surprised when she tried the first pair on...she told me she could read and see things she never could see or read before and the glasses were very comfortable. I never thought there would be the differences in glasses that it appears to be but the look on her face when she put the new glasses on was all I needed to make me a very happy husband.

Don't worry they are all over the place in China in major cities anyway. Places like Shanghai, Beij and HK there are optians on every parade/strip mall of shops you may encounter. What Chinese optians lack though is accuracy in eye test measurements. Glasses bought from China have always been 0.5 too weak or too strong. So you get your eye test done overseas somewhere reputable then take the prescription to the optician there.
