Do you enjoy Train Travel?

Travel Itinary in China!?

  • Hello all, I was looking for your thoughts or suggestions. We are going for our Honey moon in August. We like to travel and not sit about. Yes we like to pack in as much as possible as if it was our last chance at ever being there. We did India last year and fit in 14 cities in 3 weeks. We like to dip our toe in to a place and move quick. Not interested in this being terrible, that we will not get to know the place, we haven't got that much time or money. As I say, we treat it like it is the last chance to be their in our lives. Any suggestions or thoughts on this following itinary, how we could make it better, or more enjoyable (bearing in mind we enjoy the traveling part). Aug 6th - Beijing Aug7th - Beijing Aug 8th - Bejing/Train Aug 9th - Train Aug 10th - Train Lhasa Aug11th - Lhasa Aug 12th - Lhasa/Train Aug 13th - Train Aug 14th - Train/Xian Aug 15th - Xian Aug 16th - Xian/Train Aug 17th - Train/Gullen Aug 18th - Gullen Aug 19th - Gullen/Train Aug 20th - Train/Huangshan Mountain Aug 21th - Huangshan Mountain Aug 21st - Huangshan Mountain/Train Aug 22nd - Train Aug 23rd - Bejing Aug 24th - Fly home So to recap that's - Beijing, Lhasa, Xian, Gullen, Huangshan Mountain, Beijing home.     You have picked a good itinerary, but no way can you do it cheaply, and due to the vast distances involved, you will need to fly between them, or spend more time travelling than sight seeing. Also; tiredness will detract from your enjoyment. I have been to BJ/Xian/Guilin, and other places, on a private tour package. This would be a better way to do it.

I bet you can't get a Beijing/Lhasa train tickets in August. You must join in a tour group to visit Lhasa.
