What is the the physical exam like when for applying for an X visa?

• I'm going to be studying abroad in China and will be staying longer than 6 months, so I'm going to be applying for an X visa. Though the Chinese consulate website makes no mention of a physical exam, my study abroad site said that we had to bring copies of our foreigner's physical exam plus lab results to the Chinese consulate. Does anybody know what kind of tests they do during the physical exam? More specifically, do they do drug testing? I've smoked weed quite frequently recently, but I know that Asia is a lot more rigorous when it comes to any kind of drug usage. I've heard that they just check for diseases and take blood samples to check for HIV and such, but I've also heard that they take urine samples. Would like answers from somebody who has gone through the actual process of applying for an X visa for China (or other Asian countries). Any clarification from somebody who has had the experience firsthand would be appreciated. Thanks!

  It's hard to understand why they want you to have a physical in your home country, when they never accept the results in China and you have to have a physical in China. However, here's the process in China. weight/height check blood pressure check vision check blood check urine check ekg/ecg check abdominal ultrasound (to check kidneys) chest x-ray The blood check is merely a standard blood workup, with little attention paid to results (unless the AIDS virus is present). The urine check is for glucose levels, but I'm not sure if they check for other stuff or not. Been through the process several times for a Z (work) visa. My husband went through the exact process for his X visa and then ongoing for his Z visa.
