If you have a chance to go to Peking University or HongKong University,which one will you choose?Why?

I don't know much about Hong Kong University, but Peking is equal top university with Tsinghua University in China. I would say it depends on what kind of a deal you are getting with the University, room, food, pay? Hong Kong is more westernise than Beijing, you can have a lot of fun shopping, night clubbing but prices are dearer than Beijing and its a great place and Macau is just an 1 hour by ferry. Beijing on the other hand has more cultural places to visit it has shopping malls and bar areas but not as good as Hong Kong but you can still have fun. Also conditions for students (unless you get a overseas student dorm room) may not be the best you have come across in Beijing. However if your not used to the weather condition's Hong Kong has very humid and hot summers, although Beijing does to be not to the same extent. Also Hong Kong does have a storm season there, but you will have to read up on that. If I had to choose it would be Hong Kong but that is mainly because I been working at one of the universities in Beijing for 2.5 years and would like to live in another part of China.

Peking Univerisity! Peking U. attracts students from all over China and the world. Beijing is a historical city with much to offer. Also,Beijing is a great base for traveling to other destinations. Hong Kong is a very trendy city, but it is isolated, expensive, most people speak very poor Mandarin and HK is in the world record book for population density(2 million in a sq mile?; something like that). Hong Kong U. is strong in science and finance, but that's about it. Do yourself and the world a big favor and attend Peking University!

I would say Beida (Peking Uni). My brother went there for a year for a transfer, even though he is Chinese anyway. But he said that he made the most unique friends ever, some Russian friends, some Chinese friends, etc. He said that the facilities are better for the international students, but they aren't the.. cleanest, if that's what you're wondering. Now, I do not know whether or not you are international student, so I do not know what kind of hospitality you would get. But on the other hand, I know that HongKong Uni is good too, it made it into the top 20, as far as I know. Also, there are a lot of pretty scenary near the HKong Uni, so if you were to ever have some spare time, you could go sight-seeing. Good luck on your choice.!

Hong Kong would be a better place for you to go. People in HK can speak English better and a lot of stuffs there with English translation. The quality of school is also very good and students are very respectful. Peking Uni is a good quality Uni and the housing and food are cheaper than HK; however, people dont speak english as well and you might find it very difficult to adapt the whole environment. In HK, people speak both Cantonese and Mandarin and it is a great place for shopping, food, and entertainment (the price is a little higher than China, but is a lot cheaper when compare it to US, AZ, or English, etc.)

Well, what are you studying? If it's Mandarin, then Beijing all the way because you'll be surrounded by Cantonese in Hong Kong which won't be much help. Consider costs too - Mainland China is much cheaper than Hong Kong, the weather is more reasonable in Beijing and you'd be able to study at China's most famous university (i.e. they actually turn down foreign students sometimes, hardly any other universities turn them down).

i would choose HK university because people in HK speak more fluent english so you can more easily adapt in the environment. Peking University is the best in china, there are many chances to get there for exchange programs if you work hard and have scholarships

I don't know about Hong Kong University, but I do know that Peking University is like the most sought after university in China.

Hong Kong because the education system is still udner british which prepares you for lands of opportunity

I think about HK University,because Peking U is ruled by CCP,CCP also brainwashs those student.You know all chinese University has a leader from China Communist Party call "书记"(shu ji),its joke.
