Im visiting Macau, then possibly inland china and Hongkong...?
-
Hi I will be visiting Macau this month of May, I will also see if I can visit inland China and Hongkong while Im in the area. Since I didnt have much time to prepare for this trip, I was wondering if anyone had tips and pointers for me on the following: 1) Where is the most reasonably cheap and good place(s) to stay in Macau? 2) Where are the best places to shop for clothes, shoes and gadgets in these places? ..is it cheaper to buy in hongkong than Macau? 3) What are the things i should be aware of when visiting the 3 places? 4) Im into photography, so what are the must-see parts of the places I have mentioned? I know my question consists of more than one , but any info that could help would be great! Thanks! :)

Answer:
1. Check at www.mangocity.com.hk, I usually set a budget to myself and find the highest rated or star hotel. (I live with my parent if I travel back to Macau, but I was looking for hotel for my in-law's family.) 2 and 4 for Macau: walk from ruins St.Paul church to Macau city hall. There are lots of store in between these 2 areas. This is a Must go place in Macau. Othan than this area, Ma Gou temple is where the name of Macau came from (The museum next to it. You are there already anyway.) Macau is also famous fro Casino. (Very small city, usually it is a 2 day 1 night trip. ) HK has lots of fun place - shopping in woman street, Ocean park and HK peak etc. Inland China depends on how far you want to go. Since you are a photography, you may not interest to join the local tours. The local tours in HK and Macau are actually very nice and cheap for going to inland China, but the schedule usually is very RUSH, that you don't really stay in 1 particular spot for a very long time. 3. HK, Macau and mainland China has different VISA requirement for the entry VISA. Assume you have a US passport, you are free to stay in HK and Macau for a week or two without a VISA. (Not quite sure about the number of days allowed.) However, you need a VISA for each entry to mainland China. If you have another country's password, make sure you find out of you need a Visa in advance of entry of each place, and how many times you need the entry. (Going to Macau to mainland China means you have exited Macau, and you count as a 2nd entry when you return to Macau from mainland China.)
