How many world leaders will not attend the Beijing Olympic ?

  • Personally, I think that's only common courtesy to accept an invitation to a world event Let me state clearly that 'The olympic and the olympic torch does not only belong to China'. If world leaders have a huge issue with China then instead of acting like childish kindys...they should attend and celebrate the Olympic opening and closing ceremony. If they have an issue with China then disuss this with them after the Olympics. Personally, I want Japanese, Pakistan, Indian, Korean leaders along with other Asian leaders to attend.. As for the other countries, don't call China rude for not sending you an invitation...'cause they have already. So how many World leaders will be attending the opening/closing ceremony? Isn't it hypocrisy for one to boycott the olympic when he will be attending the closing ceremony? - G. Brown

    You know that Olympic opening ceremonies doesn't need every world leader to come and join. 2004 Athens was Bush I think. I know Bush and Kevin Rudd is going and maybe the French president Sarko w/ his wife is going as well.

Europeans and Americans look down upon the Chinese race. It is not the human rights issue, neither is Tibetan Issue. They do not want China grabs all postive light while thier Iraq war is getting worse by the day.

Personally, I say who cares. How many world leaders attend the Greek Game? or the Sydney game? Not many. If they are good leaders, then they should be busy working for THEIR OWN PEOPLE. Instead taking a vacation on the public budget. But if they choose to go, then I am sure that China will welcome them. It is a their own choice. Nobody should have a saying on it. Plus, I would rather them not showing up at the same time. Too much a target and too much security headaches.

Do you have an idea, now, it is only Europeans and N. Americans who are very unconfortable with China's success ? Why China is inviting someone who had racial contempt on the Chinese people ? You naturally get subbed if you are inviting into your house someone who has a racial contempt on you ! It is as simple as that. No more. No less.

I think the Leaders should stay at home and take care of their country's problems and not go on a holiday . They travel to other countries and the PRC anyway during numerous other International conferences. They can be represented by the Heads of their Sporting Councils. It has been mentioned by the PRC that The Olympics is a Sporting event and not a Political event so it really does not matter who attends. ++Not True: You are wrong, the citizens of their respective countries can dictate on whether they can and should go if they want. If enough voices says "No" they , the leaders won't go.
