Compare/contrast china and the united states?

What goods objects can be sold in the United States from China to help make things cheaper for travelers?

  • This is a reverse varient of another question I just asked: What goods objects can be sold in China from the United States to help make things cheaper for travelers? Since I am unlikely to profit off of bringing things from the US to China, I am wondering what would sell the best from China in the US. It seems like pearl, jade, and silk items are a lot cheaper in China. Good answers might include answers to: What is recommendable? What am I not allowed to bring back? Is there a website about this? How much am I capable of carrying back (in terms of baggage)?

  • Answer:

For selling... There could be NONE as well, but there are ways to level off the cost of travelling. The problem is how do you sell them? There are just too many stores doing the same. If you brought back 1 clothes from China, you can probably sell it for 4 to 7 times of what you paid for it. It is good if you already have a store. But ... if your intention is to sell the thing you bought back, the clothes are subject to import tax. Here are things that is good and cheaper from China: - Hand sculpture items - Clothes - I bought enough underwear, cascul T-shirts and pants for my next 2 to 3 years. (maybe some jackets as well depend if I go in summer or winter. Depends on how many space left in my beggage. - Gem stone items - Cooking sauce - if you know some Chinese friend, you may bring some special cooking sauce back and sell to them. (I will pay 5x of the price if someone can bring me a special spicy sauce back from HK... anyway, I am going there next month, so I won't need it for coming year... but next year... ) - Bought a XO or Lotus XIII - they are much cheaper from duty fee shop. --- Beggage for economy class allow 2 checked bags plus 1 hand-on bag. The checked bag could have a max weight to 50 pounds or 70 pounds depending on which Airline you took. (e.g. Continential is 50 pounds, Cathay Pacific is 70 pounds.) --- For what you can bring, and what you cannot. Check out the http://www.usa.gov for International travel section.
