How much can Buy with 1500 RMB in China?

• I am going to China in 4 days as a exchange student and I'm going to travel all around China and I'm wondering how much can I buy with 1,500 RMB in China, I mean like clothing and/or games or skateboard or electronic's, and can you give me any advice when I am in China aswell ? Thank

  I live in China and I can tell you that generally things are cheaper here than, say, the US. I don't know where you are from, but 1500 yuan is about $240. Electronics seem to be about the same cost as in the US, however. I don't know about skateboards, or if they even have them. I've yet to see one. They have lots of bikes and scooters. Clothes can be cheaper here but you may need to compare prices to be sure. DVDs can be a really good deal. Last week I bought seasons 1-3 of The Big Bang Theory for 24 yuan. My friend thought that was expensive, but then I told her that in the US the same thing (without Chinese subtitles either) costs 750 yuan. Basically I got the set for just under $4!!! One thing to consider is that if you bring electronics from home you'll need a power converter. There are two different types of plugs in China, too, so make sure your converter has a plug adapter. And there's no deodorant to be bought here so make sure you bring enough to last your whole visit!
