Where should I get an electrical engineer job in UAE?

In UAE, is this a normal scenario during a job interview? or is this an attempt of a malicious intent?

• my friend (male, engineer) were asked by a company manager (male, uae national) to meet him somewhere in Dubai @ 9pm for a job interview, the manager arrived @ 11pm, the latter asked my friend to ride in his car so they can proceed in their office. My friend wondered because they traveled much, they went to unfamiliar place until they reached the dessert @ almost 12 midnight, they went inside the building (looks like a warehouse) where nobody is around. My friend find it very suspicious, the fact that he is only meeting him for a job interview, why on that late night & a very isolated place where nobody is around? My friend decided to make-up a story just to escape from such a trouble. He went home, chilling and spent much for the taxi fare. I don't mean to offend anybody, I just want to get your view on this situation..is this within the norms, and how to react in cases like this. thanks

  He's lucky he got out unscathed. Very suspicious behavior, no matter the culture. Sounds to me like the interviewer was looking to get laid.
