How to visit UAE for ex-UAE employee without cancellation of the residence visa in the passport?

  • i worked in abu dhabi,UAE before from May 2006 to May of 2007, i have a contract for 3 years but did not finish because i have an offer in a different country, went back to my home country and did not return to UAE and now working in a different country. i believe that my previous employer cancelled my visa already since it is almost 2 years now. my company now will send me to a course training in the UAE, would it give me any trouble or allow me to go there for a short course? i wish to visit UAE eversince. please give me a good advise not to face any problems in the immigration and have the chance to visit UAE again and not to work for now but maybe apply again in UAE in a couple of years. i would really appreciate your help. thanks!

    How did you leave the UAE? Did you just disappear? In this case you might be reported as an absconder and are blacklisted, which means, no entry. If you never send your passport for cancellation, your residence visa is not valid any more, but not cancelled. As long as your visa isn't cancelled, you are not able to apply for any other visa. You have to get in contact with your former employer and ask what kind of action they took after you left.
