How much are the cars in Dubai?

SALIK Dubai - how many cars are using the gates without a tag? Why are there no reports on this in the media?

• I would be extremely interested in the number of cars passing the toll gates without having a valid tag. Having read today's 'Emirates Today' and '7days' I could not find the slightest indication about OFFICIAL statements from the RTA about the number of cars on Garhoud Bridge or the Al Barsha toll gate yesterday. The reports were only very general statements without specific up to date RTA statements. And it sounds as if not a single car using the toll areas was not equipped with a Salik tag. Hard to believe. And finally - isn't it amazing that there were no reports on this at all on the English language radio stations today??? "If you can't master it - conceal it!" Just my thoughts. To me, all this feels a bit smelly but I might be biassed. Happy to read your thoughts and comments.

  u r absolutely right, i do agree with u. there are still some cars passing the gates without the tags....................... how many................ hard to say although the count meter is counting the no of cars passing, but y no one in media is caring for tht............ the reason is to promote SALIK, if they say this many number of cars yet din't use the tags...........u can understand the rest. also there was a statment from the authority that there was the shortage of Salik tags, thus ........there are yet some vehicles which i guess couldn't get it on time. on the other hand some till now din't go for the tags coz if i am not wrong and recalls very well there was some statment from the authorities tht if within two days the payment is due, the drivers/vehicles would b exempted from f9. i guess it would b only for the initial phase. but after a month or so every single car passing the gate without tag would b f9d. but wht i was wondering tht our friends coming from oman, saudia, kuwait by road,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, wht they r going to do!!!!! many of them don't have update till now. even with in UAE there are drivers yet without enough knowledge of Salik.
