UK Citizen attending an Interview for Real Estate job in Dubai. Any advice please?
-
I was born in the UK and lived in England all my life. I am now 25, I have travelled and before had the experience of cultures so different to my own, during a one year gap. I have worked in London for 3 years as an estate agent with experience in lettings and sales, and I have a total of 6 years experience of estate agency in the country. The pay is not amazing in the UK, especially for the number of hours in my job, plus taxes take a big cut of your salary each month to, most employers seem to want your hard labour and are willing to offer lots of false hope and promises of great awards, I have always changed job due to head hunts and the next employer promising a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, which is never there when you reach it. So, I have been offered an interview for a Real Estate job in Dubai, which I shall be attending. The money is great, the package is great, sounds simple right? But, what i'd like to know is: How bad is the property market in Dubai? I get glimpses of negativity on the internet, however, I can see the UAE don't allow bad press, therefore it's not clear to judge. Would a role in leasing properties be a better place to be positioned rather than selling? & are there any signs of recovery? Also, your advice on pro's and con's of moving to Dubai, company recomandations, do's and dont's and/or anything else you think might be helpful for someone that is going into this cold, please pass your thoughts my way, I would be very grateful to hear any advice or experiences.

Answer:
The UAE is on path of recovery. There is construction activity going on everywhre which had come to a (slow) halt for the last couple of years. Companies are on hiring spree again. Though property sector is not all that rosy as it was at its peak few years back, still it's rearing it's head. All said and done Man what are u waiting for, come to tax-free heaven as have many ppl from your community been living, enjoying here a privilged life (well debateable here, on account of their talent or being a white, lol). Come grab the job man!
