What age can you get your license in Dubai?

  • HI, I am 15. I'm supposed to get my permit in 1 month..and I'm going to move the United Arab Emirates..in a month!!!! So...i was wondering how the driving stuff works there...would i get my license at 16 still? do i need to get my driver's permit ? All help would be appreciated! BTW, i live in the USA (CA)...currently thanks!

Agree with "Sazim". You can take lessons before turning 18, but will receive the license with 18 only. You also should be aware of that driving in UAE is very different from drinving in USA. Dubai is a cosmopolitan city and nationals from all over the world are driving here. Speeding, reckless driving, changing lanes without indicator, not stopping for people using a crosswalk, etc. is very common. Being just 15 years old and not used to UAE traffic, you maybe even do not want to drive because of so many .............on the streets. It just need some fog to have many accidents (today). Dubai Government allow driving only If you have a driving license. If you are visiting visa Dubai government can not give you driving license.If you have open visa and you want to stay there permanently then mey they give you license.
