Do you have to be a resident to take a driving test in Dubai?

    You have to be a resident of Dubai to be able to take a Dubai Driving Test. If you are coming on a visit visa (tourist, holiday, seminars, conference etc...) then you dont need to take one.... just have a valid international driving license and you can get a rented car using that license under visit visa.

no u must wait till u get ur residence visa stamped on your passport, however if u have a tourist visa u can drive with an international lisence issued from anywhere in the world, for EU, canada usa, japan, south korea u can drive with ur lisence till u get ur residence stamped then u cant drive anymore till u pass ur test the procedure to issue a liscence takes 3-4 months
