How to get a driving license in Dubai?

  • I am from India and i have a valid license in Inida and i would like to have UAE license, I have a resident Visa in Abu Dhabi, and i am working in Dubai. Is it possible for me to take driving license from Dubai itself. When i discussed with some colleague they said i have to go the Abu Dhabi only, they will not allow me to take license from Dubai. Is there anyway that i can get Driving classes and test in Dubai by having some Documents from my office or from some other Govt Office. Please gimme a detailed picture of the procedure if the possibilities there. Thanks in Advance.....

    Normally, Dubai Licensing Section will not accept your application if your residence visa is under the Abu Dhabi (AUH) Government. Your friends are correct by saying you have to apply is AUH. However, there are instances (again descritionary to my gut feeling) where Dubai Police will accept if you will be able to produce a proof that: 1. Your place of work is Dubai - hence you have to produce a letter from your AUH employer as such. 2. No Objection Letter from your AUH Employer. However, I would suggest that you visit BELHASA or EMIRATES or DUBAI DRIVING Schools to be sure of the rulings. I would personally NOT recommend to get your license in Dubai since the testing time for you will take ages. Good luck !

well the first condition is to be atleast 18 years old. when you are eighteen then you have to apply for the driving license where i think the centre is in al qusais i think. then you will have to pass a minimum of 30 ( im not sure) sessions of driving classes in any driving institute and then you will get to have the chance to give you exam and if you fail which i hope not ....you will have to take another 20 sessions of tuitions and then get your second chance of being tested!!
