• Who is monitoring the activities of Driving schools in Dubai ? I m Taking driving classes in one of the driving school in Dubai. I started classes in January 2011 and still I have not passed assessment test which is taken by the school. I have taken 75 classes and 4 pretest(assessment), Road and Transport Authority of Dubai has designed a course of 40 classes which is (according to RTA) enough to gain essential driving skill (for a normal person). But everyone can see not only me, many many students are given many classes which is very expensive. Every school has a system to test the students(assessment test). A student goes for the test and fails, he is ordered to take more (6, 8 or 10) classes. It means pay more money to the school. OK, student was tested, he has not learned. But who is checking if the instructor is teaching him/ her properly or not? Student is paying money, and how hard is the instructor doing to teach him ? It seems there is no value of money of poor people in these schools. To be frank, these school are making money, in fact cheating. I can say that because many times students fail even they have not made mistake or it is a minor mistake. Sometimes examiner confuse the student saying something. If a student fails in pretest, it is just said, " Go take more classes." once, twice, thrice........... No one tries to understand why he failed. Just go and pay more money. What is the limit? How much money can they take? how much money should a student pay? No one is caring about this. No one is talking, investigating or writing about this. Just poor students are being squeezed by the schools.It is good business for the schools. Am I wrong?

  The system: My neighbor had been driving in Dubai without license for four years with no accident---clean! One fine morning he decided to get license.After 40 lessons,he appeared for road test and got FAILED. Instructors: The one I had would keep doing makeup and personal phone calls all the time while I would drive smooth on my own for an hour without creating any havoc on the road.
