Do I need to take a test to get my driving license in Dubai?

If you have a Driving licence issued from UK and your passport is issued from India then you are not eligible for a automatic conversion of licence to a UAE licence. However you will get the benefit of not having to appear for a "Kuccha" test or take theory classes. When u apply for licence in UAE, there is section in the form where it asks for details of your existing licence wherein you fill the details of the UK licence. Bring the original UK licence along with you to the Police office where you will apply. There are some signatures which will be done by some senior police officials to waive your "Kuccha" test and theory classes. You will be asked to undergo 2 months driving training for the "Pucca" test which is the final road test. U get five chances on such a "Pucca" road test. My advice- do join a good driving institute and practice hard on Dubai roads. Then appear for the final road test. Wish you all the best!!
