Do I need a birth certificate for an India Visa?

I need help for their birth certificate attestation as requirement for visa in Dubai.?

I work here in Dubai. My children are born in Australia. I need help for their birth certificate attestation.? I have a copy of my children's birth certificate with me now which was issued to us after their births. Can I use these and go to UAE embassy here in Dubai for the certificates to be attested? or do I have to get an original birth certificate again from NSW registry of birth? Or can I send my copies to UAE embassy in Caberra to be attested? Will UAE embassy in Canberra attest this copies and send them to us here in Dubai. I don't know anyone in Canberra to help me out on this processes. Can anyone help please. thanks. Bernie

I've just been through the same ordeal with my two sons. Had to send the original certificates back to Canada to be Authenticated, then brought to a Canadian Embassy here for a stamp - then submitted to the UAE authorities for thier blessing. It took months. Good luck.
