What is it like to practise as a midwife in the UAE?
-
I'm about to qualify and plan to work for 2 years in the UK before moving on to pastures new. I am considering UAE.....has anyone got any insights as to what midwifery is like out there?
-
Answer:
There is no professional qualification for Midwifery persee in the UAE. Unlike in most countries (i.e Philippines), there's a strict regulation in the UAE to monitor both mother & child post & pre natal check-up and delivery by registered and professional personnels thru a clinic or hospital or medical centers. The above professionals are nurses and doctors. Midwifes are categorized in the UAE as Helthcare Attendants or Aides and NOT allowed to deliver babies. Hope to be of help !
