Can I drive in Canada with a UK provisional licence?

Can I drive with my UK provisional licence in South Africa?

  • I will be going to South Africa for six months where I could drive my mother and boyfriend's cars, with them in the cars, who have both had their full SA licences for over three years. I used to have an SA learner licence and went through a driving school to get my full licence. However, a few days before the test I was told I would fail unless I paid a large bribe. I didn't pay it, and failed. I will be coming back to the UK to get my full licence in the future. I'm just wondering if I can drive in SA on my UK provisional in the meantime?

  • Answer:

No, not if it has expired. You will need to redo your learners. Thereafter, you can drive if a licensed driver is in the car with you. When you get your drivers, you are obviously free to drive on your own. :)
