What are the things, places or activities i shouldnt miss in South Africa?
-
I'm going to South Africa with my family tonight for vacation. I'm staying there for one week only. We'll spend 2 days in sun city then 5 in cape town. This is my first time there so i was wondering what things or activities I should do or shouldnt miss in my trip?

Answer:
You should go to the gardens and the museum in Cape Town. Also, the Waterfront. Then there's Tafelberg, just don't wander away from other people, because people do get mugged there. Greenpoint is also nice. Greenmarket square is a good place to browse for memorabilia, but expensive as they cater for tourists. There is a flea market next to Cape Town station too. They are a bit cheaper, I think. If you can travel, you have to go more to Somerset West and surrounding areas too. There are many little zoo's, reptile parks and Butterfly World in that area. If I think of anything else, I'll just add it later. Enjoy your stay.

unfortunately you chosed the wrong route already for winter vacation. Wild life is great during this time, bike ridding, the 4 x 4 experience, the bela -bela bath. The Limpopo province and Mpumalanga is best in winter and warm.

1 week is not enough. You need 2 weeks at least. Sun City in my eyes is so-so. It should be in Vegas. 2 Days and you should have done everything possable. Capetown has a lot to do. You should have time for everything there.

You need to go to the Kruger National Park

It is a huge country so you are only going to see a little bit of it. Cape Town is lovely. The road from Cape Town to the cape is one of the most scenic in the world. At the cape you might see whales migrating. Visit the wine country around Cape Town and sample some! Stay at least a night in a safari park if you can. You don't have to go to the Kruger, there are lots of smaller private parks.

Seems you may be lucky with the weather... coldish, but sunny skies. Table Mountain Wine Route (Spier in Stellenbosch) V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, Aquarium Canal walk (if you really enjoy shopping) Long street (clubbing, night life) Camps Bay beach front & 12 Apostles drive Drive to Simons Town (Boulders beach to see penguins) through to Cape Point
