Why do people call you Anti-Semitic if you dare criticise the secular state of Israel?

middle eastern arabs are from semitic origins also.. but you can joke, make movies, ridicule and say anything you want about arabs, and they cant have a leg to stand on in any court of anti semitism.. but if its a jew.. Oh my GAWD... you'll rot in jail for life or be fired, run out of town, loose your job etc

It's no problem to criticise it's how you criticise. You the kind that often say "Some of my best friends are Jews "

There is nothing wrong at all with criticising Israel. But if your criticism is based on inaccurate facts, it's unfair. And if someone ONLY criticises Israel, while ignoring the terrible things the Arab countries and the terrorists have done to Israel, that's unfair also. To pick up on your comment: Israel is not an 'apartheid' state. How can it be, when over 30 per cent of citizens are not Jewish, and when Israeli Arabs are equal citizens, have the same rights as everyone else, and sit in the Israeli parliament? Everyone is free to worship as they please; all religions are welcome. If you want to criticise specific things about Israel, then by all means do so. You'll find that Israelis are very open to this and they themselves debate all the time about how to resolve the sad situation that exists out there. Also, do remember that Israel takes up 0.01 per cent of the Middle East. The country is tiny. There are 22 Muslim countries, many of them not democratic at all. Yet I don't see you criticising them? In Saudi Arabia, ALL religions other than Islam are illegal and punishable under the law. Surely we should be remarking on this too? And yes, America does support Israel. As the ONLY secular democracy in the entire region, that is only logical. Iran and Syria fund and support and help train terrorist group Hezbollah. Wouldn't you rather support a democracy? You might also recall that America gives more money to Iraq, Germany and the Palestinian Authority than to Israel. Only those who are anti democracy have a problem with America helping Israel. Israel has been fighting terrorism since 1948. Finally: the Palestinians would have a state by now IF the Arab world had not rejected Partition back in 1948. Instead of saying yes, SEVEN huge Arab armies simultaneously attacked Israel. Have you ever lived in Israel? If not, it's hard to appreciate how they live under the constant threat of terrorism. Only last week, a suicide bomber was stopped just before he got into Tel Aviv, his bag and car packed with explosives. And while Israel gives free water, electricity and fuel to Gaza, Palestinians in Gaza are constantly attacking Israeli towns like Sderot with rockets.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable debate.

because israel is the innocent ,poor, weak little country...and her mama ''the us'' must defend her against the big bad arabs who pick on her the crazy thing that they call arabs antisemetic how could semetic people be called antisemetic

Are you talking about people who live in occupied Palestine ?. These people are protected by the U.S.A.
