Does USPS deliver late?

EBay and USPS First Class Mail International to deliver to my doorstep???? South African here?

  • Okay so I am a bit..no a lot concerned. I am from South Africa, and two days ago I bought something from eBay. Something that has a lot of value for me. Now, there is a little matter I can not get complete clarity on: eBay had me fill in WHERE I LIVE as my order form, since they wanted my street address. Okay. Good. But now comes the part where the Item gets shipped: does USPS First Class Mail International deliver TO MY DOOR or should I leave my post box address instead? Will they (USPS and eBay) require me to sign for the package? If so, then at least I know it's to-door. I just do not know if South Africa and eBay/USPS have a courier service in South Africa. If I sound panicky, it's because I am.. I do not want to lose that package. Has a lot of personal value. Much thanx, Marianne

    I don't use USPS. You can try Viaddress.com at http://www.viaddress.com/ which offers the lowest shipping rates. Anyone can do a comparison of the shipping rates and find out that Viaddress is the best option if you’re planning to shop from US merchants. The fact that they don’t have a Setup fee or a monthly membership fee, had convinced me to use them for my last purchase from the states, and I’m quite satisfied with the speed of the processing of my packages.

They do have international shipping. USPS doesn't require a signature.

Every Couriers Service in the world has either branches or offices in every country. If they are not listed in SA then they obviously another courier company for receiving and distributing. I would suggest you contact the seller and request that he email/fax you a copy of the waybill. On there it will state who their agent in SA is, plus the shipping instructions. Ie. To be collected/ or door to door delivery. Phone Sky Couriers or Sun Couriers who may know who their agent is. there is a company called UPS (United Parcel Services) in SA. Maybe it is them. Its important you get a copy of the waybill for security reason and tracking the parcel. Hope it gets to you safely.
