What jobs could you do with a social work degree?

What kind of jobs can I work in SA with a 2 year RN degree?

  • I am an RN (2 year degree) in America. I am looking at moving to SA with my husband who is from there. What kind of work can I get in SA? I have heard that I can only work as an RN with a 4 year degree. I have been working as an RN for 5 years in America. Does experience count?

  • Answer:

As far as I know, you'd need the 4 year degree. And when applying for jobs, your experience will definitely count. Please go look at these website. Netcare is on of the BIG private hospital groups. I'd contact someone there and just make sure. Also, try to get work in the private sector. Unfortunately, our public hospitals are REALLY absolutely terrible, and I speak out of experience. Here's 2 sites you can check out and maybe contact someone: SA Nursing council: http://www.sanc.co.za/ Netcare: www.netcare.co.za

Contact the South African Nursing Council - www.sanc.co.za It is the regulatory authority. They will decide if you are eligible for registration based on your qualification and experience. There are a few different "levels" of registration.
