What sports are there in Bremen?

How can we employ sports worldwide to encourage people to achieve peace?

  • Willie Lemke, a german Senator in Bremen and ex-manager of Werder Bremen soccer team, has just been elected Sports Coordinator for UNO. I was not aware that such a post existed. What are your ideas? How can the world achieve peace through sport?

  • Answer:

    One word Football. Get the kids to play. It is already popular just give out balls you don't even need to build a stadium, we use to play anywhere. To be hornest I would prefere football violence then full on war or crime.

I do not think it can. In South America football even started a war ! Sport is competitive and national team sports raise nationalism, the fans are united but because they are AGAINST the other fans. The Olympics are a political farce and with what is now going on in China they will be a disgrace. I would LOVE sport to live up to the lofty ideals of Ancient Greece when even wars ceased during the Olympiad but I doubt this be possible in the modern world. Sport today is about greed, nationalism and commercialisation. ______________________________________… The 'Football War' was fought by El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. I wish we could Cakes, and I think it would be super, but I do not think it is not possible...No one would come to SA, to start off, and secondly, it would only benefit countries that are truly committed democratic governments, which unfortunately excludes SA...

Well the Greeks started with it a few hundred years back till bad old u s of a saw you could make money out of it and the hole plan go down under . So it doesn't stand a chance any more
