How hard is it to get into University of Cape Town?

Transferring to the University of Cape Town or Rhodes University?

• i'll be studying at varsity college in south africa through unisa, however i am not satisfied with this route. Is it possible to transfer to either Rhodes or Cape Town? Also, if i am studying through correspondence with an affluent chinese university is there any institution in the sandton area where i can get a full-time tutor? My grades were good, it just took a while for my parents to let me go so i'm late for this year. however what of the next? I am doing an access programme because i'm under 23 and its fo 6 months. Do either universities accept students in july or the middle of the year?

  The best thing would be to contact the Universities directly. Their call centers are usually a bit busy over this period (new registrations etc.), so I would suggest contacting them around mid-February. Most reputable universities in SA accept Unisa credits for the subjects you did there, so I would recommend continuing with your first semester subjects and transferring around June for the second semester. Again, I'm not 100% sure they'll accept students around June, but the chances are good that they will make an exception if not. As for the tutor, I'm sure you'll find dedicated tutors in Sandton, but it would come at a price. I suppose it also depends on the subjects/courses you need a tutor for.
