What to take to Africa?
-
Hey! So, I'm a 16 year old girl, and I'm going on a mission trip to Africa next summer. I was wondering what kind of clothing as well as other necessities I need to take with me, because chances are, I don't have them, and I want to start buying things now. I'm thinking, since it'll be summer, and hot, that athletic shorts and tshirts will be my best friend. BUT, I don't know what to take since there is snakes and such there. Also, I know i'll need a couple filtered water bottles, but what else?? If you've been on mission trips before, could you help me out, and write me a list?

Sure, you are going to be very popular selling religion in African villages walking around in athletic shorts and t-shirts. Forget about snakes, your concern should be about modesty since all eyes will be on your young flesh.

There are well over 50 countries in Africa. We need to know where you will be going, then it will be easier to give you advice. zam.co.za/Send_a_Team_files/Mission%20… Mission Trip Packing List.doc - zam.co.za

That depends on where in Africa you're going. Some places are hot and dry, others are hot and humid, others are cold and unpleasant.

Condoms, flashlight, bug spray, and a hunting rifle. I think that should cover it.

First mission should be an education and then you can go anywhere. Do not leave your state until that has happened, we in Africa do not need missionaries from the USA.

Its would have been better if you specify the regions you are going to? If its East and Central Africa carry some of these... Long sleeved and long pants for colder nights Shorts, T-shirts , skirts for day time, which are sometimes hot nice and comfortable walking shoes insect repellent (mostly for the central Africa which is more jungle) and anti-malaria pills if its gonna be a camping trip, bring some water purification means, or make sure to buy them in African towns before you hit the jungle Swimsuit, sunscreen and sunglasses if you plan to hit the beaches... well I can't think of anything else for you to carry.. Ooh, if you are gonna visit any East African countries, particularly Kenya, all those things are available in the shops. Kenya is more of a African developing country. All your best in your trip
