  In South Africa, I have been in these reserves listed below and can recommend them all, but I found the Madikwe and Shamwari the best ones. Here is the list - they are all in different provinces/areas in SA, so you would have to look on a map. They all have wide variety of wildlife. Kruger Park (northern province & mpumalanga) Khalagadi Transfrontier Park (northern cape) Pilansberg game reserve (north west province) Hluhluwe/Umfolozi game reserve (kwazulu natal) Karoo National park (western cape) Addo elephant park (eastern cape) Shamwari game reserve (eastern cape) If you meant in southern Africa (which consists of many different countries) - then I would suggest the Skeleton Coast National Park in Namibia for rare sightings of the desert elephants and desert rhinos. But there is also the Etosha National Park In Botswana, Chobe is most probably the best and most affordable. Kenya and Tanzania have wonderful safari opportunities, such as Masia Mara in Kenya and in Tanzania there is the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater.
